Neal & Massy Energy Resources Ltd.
Neal & Massy Energy Resources Limited (NMERL) is the Production Operations Unit of Neal & Massy Energy Limited (NMEL). It consist of two (2) assignments of acreage from PETROTRIN, the State-owned Oil Company, a Lease Operatorship Arrangement in the Point Fortin - WD-12 Field and a Joint Venture Arrangement in the Moruga West Territory. In this Joint Venture, NMERL holds a 60% of share and acts as the Operator. In 1995, as Tracmac Energy Resources Ltd., the Company won the Lease for the WD-12 Field from PETROTRIN for the rehabilitation of abandoned land-wells. This was the first time that the Neal & Massy Group was directly involved in the production of gas and oil. In 2001, Tracmac Energy Resources Ltd. became Neal & Massy Energy Resources Limited.
NMERL was able to rehabilitate an almost abandoned field and increased production from 112 bopd in 2000 to above 700 bopd by 2005. Associated with this was significant improvement to the infrastructure via roads, electrics, buildings, producing infrastructure enhancement, e.g. tanks, lines and improvement to the environment.
NMERL employs a total of twenty-eight employees and at a minimum another one hundred and fifty workers employed with a variety of Contractors are dependent on the operations for their livelihood. The majority of these employees are from the communities in which NMERL operates. These include electrical, pipelines maintenance, mechanical maintenance, and work over rig activity, transport, civil, environmental remediation, welders, and labourers. Additionally, NMERL continues yearly to provide on-the-job training and mentoring for UTT and UWI students.
